Rabies is a worldwide epidemic that affects all mammals throughout the world. Most people believe that rabies no longer exists within Canada; however there have been cases of the disease the last few years, even within Alberta!
Rabies is transmitted through saliva usually by a bite from an infected animal. Most commonly bats spread the disease, but skunks, fox, and raccoons also carry the disease.
Rabies is completely preventable but not treatable! Make sure your critter's vaccinations are up to date today to keep you and your pets safe!
