Dr. Lana Keating - Owner/ Veterinarian
Dr. Lana Keating was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan and attended the Agriculture and Veterinary colleges in Saskatoon. Lana moved to Alberta in 1998 and worked in a mixed animal practice in Peace River before moving to Central Alberta in 2001. She has owned Parkland Veterinary Hospital since 2007. Her work passions are skin and eye conditions in pets. She enjoys the daily interactions with staff and clients to keep the animals in her care healthy. Lana is a member of the ABVMA, the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatologists and attends the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatologists. In her spare time Lana enjoys hiking the outdoors and spending time with her three, almost grown, children. |
Dr. Mirjam Stigter - Veterinarian
Dr. Mirjam Stigter graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She grew up on a farm east of Gull Lake and now lives in the Bentley area with her husband on their own acreage.
After practicing at a mixed animal clinic for a year, she joined the clinic at Parkland Veterinary Hospital in August 2020. Her veterinary interests include preventative medicine in all species.
In her spare time, Mirjam enjoys being outdoors, spending time time with her husband, going for walks, and biking. She also has 3 barn cats who have turned into indoor cats.

Dr. Lauren Deagle graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2016 and has been dedicated to providing quality care to animals of all shapes and sizes.
Originally from Cape Breton, she gained valuable experience working in a mixed animal practice in Strathmore before relocating with her family to Red Deer.
Dr. Deagle started working at our clinic in May 2023. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, their son, and their beloved Husky Togo. She also has a love for travel, running and knitting and is excited to take on her new role at Parkland Vet.

Mathia Odermatt - Reception
Mathia is another one of our cheerful receptionists. She has been with PVH for 2 years, but you may not recognize her as she only works Saturdays. She is a native Sylvan Laker and currently lives on an acreage with her husband, 2 dogs, and 6 cats. Can you tell she loves animals? She also loves paddle boarding and hiking. |
Kimberley Mercer - RVT
Kim has worked at PVH since 2013 as a Registered Veterinary Technologist. She graduated from Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in 2008. She and her husband Aaron have a cat named Montana. Kim reached a milestone this spring as she celebrated her 10th year working for PVH. In her spare time Kim enjoys golfing, gardening, camping, travelling with Aaron and hiking. |
Krista Stannard - RVT
Krista graduated from NAIT in 1996 and started working for PVH in 2018. Krista lives in Sylvan Lake with her husband Todd and 2 daughters. In the summer, they spend time with their kids, friends, and dog at Gull Lake.

Darian Thiessen - RVT
Darian graduated from Olds College with her RVT diploma in February 2020. She did her practicum here at PVH and was then hired onto the team. She currently lives in Red Deer, and loves to hike in her free time as well as read books and watch Netflix with her cats Goku and Veggie.

Stefanie Neukom - RVT
Stefanie graduated from the Animal Health Technology Program at Grande Prairie College in 2020. She worked for us for awhile, then left to gain other experience in Calgary. She returned to the area in the fall of 2022 and we immediately hired her back on staff. Stefanie owns a tripawd kitty named Pirate and her favourite hobbies are hiking, camping, and horseback riding. She currently lives outside of Alhambra with her family.

In her free time, Shelley enjoys music, yoga, and spending time with family and friends. Shelley is happy to be a part of the Parkland Vet team as it allows her to combine her training as a unit clerk with her love of animals.

Jillian currently lives in Red Deer with her husband Denis, 2 children, 3 cats: Lucy, Ray, and Saffy; and 1 dog - Maebe. Jillian is passionate about cats and preventative health. Jillian will be away for awhile on maternity leave as her daughter arrived as an early Christmas present.

Jessie Alfano - Receptionist
Jessie is one of our receptionists and she can be found upstairs doing admin work! She lives in Sylvan Lake with her husband and 4 kids. In the pet department, Jessie has a Miniature Australian Shepard named Clover, a Boston Terrier named Eeyore, and her beloved Sphynx's - Zeref and Mavis! Mallory Paine - Professional Groomer
Mallory is an expert pet groomer with 17 years experience. Her calm and compassionate energy reassures even the most anxious pets. Having managed salons in Edmonton, she now brings her expertise to the Sylvan Lake area. Mallory has groomed competitively and is certified through the CPPS. At home in Red Deer, Mallory shares her life with her partner, their dog and two cats. Beyond grooming, she enjoys camping, creative pursuits, volunteering and fostering animals. With a genuine love for animals, she treats each beloved pet as if they're her own and will have them looking their best! |
Jenn Blundell -All round helper
It takes a lot of people to run a successful, efficient clinic. Another one of our valued employees is Jenn. She is our Jenn of all trades. She can be found in reception, helping with grooming, unpacking orders in the back, and keeping the operating room and kennels spotless. Jenn lives in Sylvan Lake with her husband and son and 2 French Bulldogs. |
